Music and lyrics are essential tools for the expanding dance/movement therapy community, enabling the therapist to reach diverse populations despite differences in diagnosis, age, gender, language or ethnicity. In this experiential workshop participants explore the use of music and lyrics as tools to uncover “hidden stories,” while creating personal imagery using gesture, posture and dance sequences. Examine the potential of using song lyrics to evoke authentic emotional responses, and discover how repeated lyrical phrases help organize and support self-mastery and engagement in the healing process.

All Dance Therapy courses are eligible for CE hours.
